Sony is already on the verge of finally releasing their faster and much-awaited PS4 Pro by next week, priced at $399. However, as of right now, Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter has claimed that if Microsoft will also pursue the prices of its Xbox Scorpio console at more than $399, it would be meeting its end before they could even notice it.
Scorpio priced above $399 will be suicide
During a recent interview, Pachter said: "Well, I think Microsoft would be committing suicide if it sells its console at more than $399. The main problem that they will be facing is that, if they do launch it at $399, the PS4 Pro might discount to $349 in the same week. So I'd be really surprised if the Xbox Scorpio was more than $399".
Phil Spencer makes his explanations
Xbox head Phil Spencer has already stressed out a couple of times that the Scorpio will be a premium console, and that the people shouldn't even be worried about regards to its the pricing. Pachter also added that he is currently hoping that Microsoft won't make the same old mistakes that they made with the Xbox One, where it priced its Kinect sensor as high as they could possibly can, only to ditch it in the end.
Patcher goes on
Pachter continued, saying: "I was really surprised when the Xbox One was launched at $499 with Kinect, and it took them a while to unbundle Kinect and drop the price. So Microsoft has not executed well this cycle as far as pricing goes. Just as Sony executed poorly with the PS3's pricing. So Microsoft's playing catch-up, and I'm hopeful that they don't make the same mistake with Scorpio that they did with the Xbox One".
Spencer makes his remarks on the Scorpio
In a recent report, Spencer explains that VR technology is going to revolutionize the gaming industry, and it will all start with the Xbox Scorpio. But considering that everything is not certain, he, for the meantime, considered VR gaming to be an experimental stage. Because of this, VR is not going to be the focal point for the Xbox Scorpio, at least not until it will be determined that VR is indeed what every gamer is looking for in their games.
