Xbox Scorpio Update: Microsoft Finally Hints Release Date, To Feature 6 Teraflops GPU

The upcoming release date of the Xbox One Scorpio has remained shrouded in mystery as Microsoft hasn't been making any specific announcements about when the much-anticipated gaming console will be unveiled in full detail. The high-spec Xbox Scorpio was announced last year at E3, but ever since then, there has been little-to-no updates at all from the company about it.

Microsoft still keeping it tight

Xbox head Phil Spencer has been asked about when fans could expect the device to be fully unveiled and whether it would be around the upcoming E3 event in June. Although the company knows that person growing impatient in waiting, they still remain unsure about any specific dates, as Spencer claims that he too is not yet sure about it.

Speculated release date

Previously, they had announced a holiday 2017 official release, but then there were multiple talks circulating about an earlier release thanks to a faster development and rival consoles. Still, the mentioned late release is more likely.

The Scorpio will be worth the wait

Despite all the delay and lack of any legit update, Spencer still gave assurance that the console will be well worth the wait. When asked how Scorpio was doing, Spencer said that it was doing absolutely great and that their 1st party teams are getting engines up and tuned, producing some great progress across studios, platform, and hw.

The all-powerful Scorpio

The Xbox Scorpio is being dubbed as the most powerful console ever created, with 6 teraflops of GPU with VR capabilities and 4k gaming. It is so powerful that even Microsoft is actually a bit afraid of its potential, according to one professional who recently got a dig in at the company, saying that there are a lot of conditions that they're giving customers right now around 4K.

But with all that said, we will have to wait and see what the Scorpio truly offers once it is officially introduced even more.
