Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to release in Q3 in two variants

Samsung has just released the smaller sibling of its flagship Galaxy S4, dubbed the Galaxy S4 Mini, and now rumors are gaining traction that the colossal Galaxy Note 3 phablet will launch in Q3 this year. And, if rumors are to be believed, the Galaxy Note 3 will come in two variants like the Galaxy S4.

Apparently, one version will tout the Exynos 5 octa-core processor and the other will have the Snapdragon 600.

According to a DigiTimes report, the Galaxy Note 3 is expected to release in Q3 2013 (that is between July to September). As we reported previously, this timeframe fits in with rumors that the Galaxy Note 3 will make an appearance at the IFA 2013 in Berlin in August.

If the speculated launch date bears fruition, then the Galaxy Note 3 will be pitted against the next-gen iPhone, which will allegedly release around the same time.

The Galaxy Note 3 will allegedly have the same design sensibilities as the Galaxy S4 and have a polycarbonate case. The smartphone, as we reported earlier, would rock a 5.99-inch SAMOLED Full HD Display. It is also conjectured to boast an Exynos 5 Octa-Core (8-core) processor, Mali 450 (8 cores) GPU and 3GB RAM. However, some reports have hinted at 2GB of RAM and not 3GB.

The Galaxy Note 3 will also support Wi-Fi, NFC, LTE and Bluetooth. The phablet may also have an IR blaster and come in three storage variants (16GB, 32GB and 64GB). Like its predecessors, the third-generation phablet will also have an expandable memory option (up to 64GB). The device will also feature a 13-megapixel primary camera and run on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean (subject to Google launching the OS) or Android 4.2.2 with Samsung's own TouchWiz Nature UX on top.

Recently, we had reported that the Galaxy Note 3 could have a fingerprint scanner as well to take on competition. Interestingly, like the impending Samsung phablet, Apple's iPhone 5S is also speculated to have a fingerprint reader and a 13-megapixel camera as well.

With the IFA 2013 round the corner, we may soon get a glimpse of the Galaxy Note 3. Unless of course, Samsung decides to pull a blinder and make a surprise announcement like it did with the Galaxy S4 Mini.
