Samsung has already unleashed the 4.99-inch monster, the Galaxy S4, which has started reaching customers globally. Samsung launched the handset in 16/32/64 GB variants and even though the 16GB version is available at most carriers, U.S. carrier AT&T has confirmed the 32GB variant of the handset, which will reach customers as soon as May 10.
AT&T tweeted that the carrier will offer the Samsung Galaxy S4 32GB at a price tag of $249.99 (€191) with the signing of a two-year contract agreement.
"Starting 5/10 get the 32GB Samsung #GalaxyS4 for $249.99 w/2-yr agmt & qual plans. Fees apply. Offer reqs at https://soc.att.com/11bWMO1," said the AT&T tweet.
AT&T, Verizon and U.S. Cellular are offering the 16GB version of the handset for $199.99 on a two-year contract, while Sprint is offering the handset for $149.99 on a two-year contract. AT&T is the first carrier to offer the 32GB version of the handset so it will be interesting if customers want to opt for the bigger memory version of the phone with some extra cash.
"AT&T was the first to deliver Samsung's Galaxy series and we are excited to bring the Galaxy S4 to the nation's fastest 4G LTE network," said Jeff Bradley, senior vice president - Devices, AT&T, after the official launch of Galaxy S4. "We continue to offer our customers a broad choice of devices and features to fit any mobile lifestyle, and look forward to growing our family of Samsung Galaxy devices."
The Galaxy S4 is currently one of the most-wanted Android smartphones around. Even though the memory of the Galaxy S4 can be extended using a microSD card, a bigger-size memory on the handset itself may attract customers looking to keep a lot of media files on their handset.
